What roofing SEO actually costs, and why
A $99-a-month SEO quote is not a discount. It is a different product wearing the same name. Here is what a retainer that actually works has to fund, hour by hour.

Roofing contractor inboxes get flooded with SEO quotes at every price point, and the gap between the cheapest and the most expensive can be ten times over. The instinct is to assume the cheap one is a discount on the same service. It is not. Below a certain price, an agency cannot fund the actual work, so something else has to give.
SEO has a real marginal cost, month after month
Roofing SEO is not software. There is no version of it where the cost of serving one more client drops to zero. Every account needs real hours spent on technical fixes, content that is not generic, local optimisation specific to that contractor's service area, link acquisition, and reporting that can actually be checked. We publish our own pricing at three tiers, $599, $899, and $1,199 a month, because the scope of work genuinely changes at each level, not because we picked three numbers that sound good.
What a $99 quote actually means
At a price that cannot cover the real hours, an agency has two options, and we see both constantly. The first is doing almost nothing: a template audit, a handful of generic blog posts, and a report designed to look busy. The second is automating the work into spam, mass-produced pages or manipulative link schemes that can actively damage the site's standing once search engines catch up to the pattern, which they do. Neither is roofing SEO. Both get sold under that name.
The three things that actually drive the cost
Market competitiveness is the first: ranking for roofing terms in a dense metro like Houston or Dallas takes more sustained work than a smaller market with less competition. Scope is the second: a contractor selling five services across three cities needs more coverage than a single-service, single-city operation. Starting condition is the third: a site with years of technical debt and no prior optimisation takes real hours to fix before new work can even compound. All three show up directly in why our own three tiers are priced where they are.
What you should actually be comparing it against
Not a cheaper SEO quote. What you are currently paying for leads, from any source, divided by your close rate. That is your real cost per booked job today. A retainer that builds a ranking is competing against that number, not against the lowest bid in your inbox. We walk through that comparison in full on the pricing page, and in what a roofing lead actually costs if you want the underlying math.
